You are a Masterpiece
The East Valley Pro-Life Alliance was in the West Valley to start the Year 2016 with presentations of “You Are A Masterpiece” and “In the Beginning”. Young girls ages 10-12 participated in a workshop that began with a flannel board story of creation. Several girls assisted in helping with the hands-on activities that included modeling with clay, coloring, and creating ice-cream sundaes. A fun raffle after the presentation of “You Are A Masterpiece” revealed that all forty-two girls were paying attention and so lots of prizes were given out. the glow-in-the-dark stars and planets and art sets were the favorites. but what really captured their attention was the fact that a twelve week fetus has a beating heart and is fully formed.
Many of the girls had stories to share:
“My mom had twins and they were born premature and were really little but now they are just right”
“My older sister is special needs and my parents were told to get rid of her when she was in my mom’s womb, but I am glad they didn’t listen because she if fun and she is my best friend.”
Many of the adults, including some grandparents, after the viewing, shyly admitted that they also learned a few things about the development of a baby in the womb.
A home schooling Co-Op was treated to a complimentary copy of “You are a Masterpiece” for their biology class and for several weeks were able to view ans study our display of the 9 month life cycle fetal models.
