Dear Board Members:
The AZ East Valley Pro-Life Alliance Board of Directors wishes to express their gratitude to you for your public service.
Please know that we sincerely appreciate your well-intentioned concerns and interest in our students, our next generation! We, too, are deeply concerned over the education our youngsters are receiving especially when it comes to a sex education from a disturbing Planned Parenthood “one fits all” curricula.
As one interprets the F.L.A.S.H. curricula, it clearly is non-compliant, in many respects, to AZ State Law SB 1009. Therefore, common sense dictates that it will not be implemented without a court battle, a needless expense to the Tempe Union School District that needs to be addressed prior to a final vote.
Furthermore, this program is heavily biased; teaching the world’s liberal view of sex, completely absent of moral responsibility, accountability and more importantly, spiritual guidance.
Parents have a duty and a right to be the primary educators of their children, particularly in matters relating to sex; parents are the best educators of their children. To this end, we strongly recommend that the school forego such an in-depth sex ed program in its entirety and concentrate perhaps on an appropriate program for parents that will help them educate their own children about this delicate subject, at every age-appropriate level.
May we also remind you that there are serious conflicts of interest within your Board that are starkly apparent; one Board Member having received campaign contributions from Planned Parenthood (clearly a “follow the money” scenario) and another Board Member, the mother to one of the Sex Ed Committee Members. Both should be excused from the final vote on this extremely critical issue that will consequently determine the level of respect our children will have for themselves and their peers as they grow into adulthood.
Therefore, we urge you to stand with us in opposition to the F.L.A.S.H. curricula, that promises to be contrary to our children’s overall well-being and select a more appropriate curricula that is fully compliant with the AZ State Law SB 1009 and approved by the taxpayers!
